It is now possible to buy your Marlins English Language Tests online using a credit or debit card.
By purchasing online, you will have immediate access to your tests via an automated system that makes your tests available as soon as your payment has been processed successfully. You can therefore purchase your tests anywhere, any time, at your convenience.
This facility will greatly speed up the test buying process, removing delays due to invoicing and bank transfers, time differences, local holidays and weekday working hours.
We recognise that security may be a concern in online purchasing. When buying Marlins tests, your credit card payment details are protected with the highly secure payment facility, WorldPay which protects you against online fraud. For more information about WorldPay online security visit the WorldPay website at www.worldpay.com.
NB: Staff at Marlins do not have access to your credit card details as all payments for the tests are handled separately through the WorldPay site.
Purchasing tests on this website is straightforward and is the same as making any other online purchase. Please follow the guidelines below:
If you make a mistake during the purchase process or if you have any queries relating to buying tests, please contact Marlins on: support@marlins.co.uk
Many companies purchase tests on behalf of their branch offices / crewing offices / manning agents / vessels. We have created a facility where the client who purchases tests can set up any number of test sites and allocate a specified number of tests to each test site.
A ‘test site’ is any place where English Language testing is carried out, whether at a shore-based crewing office or on board a ship.
The process for a Head Office registering a test site is a one-time process, however, test site details (including passwords) can be amended and updated at any time.
NB: It is the client’s and Test Sites’ responsibility to ensure that sufficient tests are available for their testing needs. Marlins does not routinely monitor clients’ test accounts for this purpose.
For example:
If you have any queries relating to the use of the online test, please contact Marlins on: support@marlins.co.uk
This section applies to test sites (eg crewing offices, agencies or ships) that will tests candidates but will not purchase tests directly. In this case, tests will be paid for by the parent company / management office / a third party on behalf of the ‘test site’.
The person purchasing the tests needs to register each test site before testing can take place. (See: ‘How to allocate tests to your company’s Test Sites’.)
The person responsible for administering tests at the test site logs on to the Marlins Test Site. The username will be the email address which was registered by the person purchasing the tests. The password is also set by the person purchasing the tests.
The process of providing tests to seafarers is based upon a unique licence code provided to each candidate by a Test Site Administrator.
NB:
- Tests which have been allocated to a seafarer but not used can be allocated to a different seafarer by changing the candidate details. Go to ‘show incomplete tests’ and click ‘allocate / amend’. Change the candidate details and then click ‘update’.
- At any time, the Test Administrator can check how many codes she has generated and how many have been used by clicking on ‘show incomplete tests’.
In some cases, the company purchasing the tests is also the Test Site, ie the place where testing will be carried out.
In this case, follow this procedure:
