You can take the new ISF Marlins English Language Test for Seafarers online here. The test can be used to assess the language level of any rank and any nationality of seafarers and is endorsed by the UK MCA at Marlins approved test centres.
Important Announcement
From 1 October 2010, Marlins will launch Version 4.2 of the ISF Marlins English Language Test for Seafarers. The new version will include an increased database of test items and several improved features to ensure randomisation and test security.
There will be a small price increase to reflect the improved quality.
You can take advantage of the current price scale to top up your test accounts up to 30th September.

This is a new version of the ISF Marlins English Language Test for Seafarers. The site can be used by anyone who wants to purchase and take tests for their business or profession:
- Employers can set up an account, buy tests, distribute them to their crewing agencies / offices and monitor all results
- Crewing agencies / offices and Marlins Approved Test Centres can administer tests to seafarers, issue certificates and compile reports
- Individual seafarers can take a test
- Employers and authorities can check that certificates are valid.
